Some of our Year 5&6 have been learning how to Orienteer after school.
We have learned how to orientate a map and how to find checkpoints using the key features on the map.
We made a mock orienteering course on the Millennium Green and one of the checkpoints was on a tree on the other side of stream so we had to get our feet wet!
The Orienteering club was on for 6 weeks and on the final week we took part in a competition at Walltown Crags. We were given a map and compass and and off we went to test our skills out! Everyone did really well and managed to find most checkpoints on the map. Some of the checkpoints were well hidden and the course was really hilly.
Even the parents joined in. Well done everyone.
